Web Comic Wednesday: Topatoco and Tweet Me Harder

Every Wednesday I will showcase some of my favorite webcomics. I do the searching so you can do the laughing!

In honor of my first Webcomic Wednesday post, I want to introduce to you some charming guys and the great comics they create. I had the pleasure of meeting these folks at Topatoco’s party (held at Arcane Comics) before ECCC, and they’re amazing! This is a jumbo post featuring multiple comics, so most of the information will be beyond the cut.

Click on the picture (or the more button) for more information on the artists and their comics.

First up (from left to right), we have Bill Barnes, Christopher Hastings, Chris Hallbeck, and Brad Guigar. These guys are hilarious and extremely talented.

Bill Barnes is the co-creator of Unshelved and Not Invented Here on books and software development, respectively.

Christopher Hastings is the creator Dr. McNinja, who is in fact a Doctor and a Ninja, and his comic gets big props from me almost entirely for his use of Ben Franklin.

Chris Hallbeck is the writer and artist of Book of Biff. The best way I can describe the comic is of men with large, thin eyebrows doing seemingly random and awesome things.

Brad Guigar creates three comics, one of which is Evil Inc and is Editor-In-Chief for Webcomics.com

PvP

Here I am with Scott Kurtz of PvP. Apparently he’ll also be at PAX East, so I’ll have to keep an eye out for him! (Plus, he mentioned Geek Chic’s Emissary Table in today’s comic, and I am absolutely in love with their tables. Major kudos to him for that!)

TweetMeHarder

And finally we have myself with the entertainment for the night: Tweet Me Harder’s David Malki and Kris Straub!

Kris makes comics Starslip and Chainsawsuit while David creates Wondermark, a comic I discovered that night and purchased at ECCC later that weekend.

Their show is also hilarious. Once that show goes on their website, I’ll let you know. You’ll even be able to listen for me during the trivia section! (where I embarrassingly and incorrectly answer questions that you can’t even technically get wrong.)

This should be enough to get you started on your webcomic exploration. Have fun!
