You, Me and Optimus Prime

Take a few minutes today to look back to when you were a kid. What kind of “pretend” did you play most? What were your favorite toys? James Struthers apparently wanted to be BFFs with Optimus Prime. Awesome choice!

(Me? I always played “Peter Pan”, and would fight with my girlfriends over who got to be Tiger Lily. Wendy was too whiny, no one ever wanted to be her!)

Community Theme Crossovers

Community is a fantastic, wonderful show. So what could be better than combining it with two other amazing shows to create these hilarious show theme parodies?

I give you, Community, as 30 Rock:

And as Parks And Recreation!

These video parodies were created as a continued effort to help save Community from the impending hiatus NBC has put the show on. If you’re a fan of Community, please, tell everyone you know to watch it. Help keep great TV on the air. #SixSeasonsAndAMovie

How Nerdy is Too Nerdy?

Man, I never knew Katrina Bowden was such a NERD. Would you be able to keep up with this much nerd?
(The ending of this is pretty much every Zaxy sleepover that’s ever happened.)

iPhone Games IRL

This band/video is the perfect mix of charm and randomness. I’m in love.

Also, I TOTALLY want to play angry birds on a trampoline. Holy cow!

Zombies and Superheroes!

What happens when you combine zombies, superheroes, guns, blood, pretty girls and upbeat dance music?

Behold.

The musical artist, Alex Day, is a good friend of mine – as is the guy who directed the music video, most of the zombies and the “female love interest”.

But I wouldn’t ever post anything just to promote friends; I legitimately think this video is super creative as well as expertly executed. The effects are cheesy, the costumes homemade – but that’s where the charm lies.

They took the overdone zombie cliché, combined it with the ever growing superhero trend, and with that, created a product that transcends them both to highlight the most important thing of all… friendship. D’aww.

Kristina and Tara’s Web Series

Today we announced a Kickstarter campaign for a new project we’re doing:

Job Hunters is a comedic web series about roommates set in a dystopian society.
After college, people must fight in an arena from 9am-5pm daily in order to be properly placed into a career. Job Hunters focuses on one “rag-tag group” of hunters during their down time, spent in a government sanctioned safe house. Yes, there will be blood. And roommate issues.

Kristina and I are creators, writers, and actors in the series along with a few of our friends. We can’t wait to introduce our characters to you and begin filming, but we need a bit of help before we get to that point. If you’re able to, please donate to our Kickstarter campaign! There are some fun incentives if that helps sway you. If you can’t help financially, no problem! Pass it along to a friend, or just get ready to watch in March when the free web series comes out.

A NaNoWriMo web series.

I’ve been kind of bad lately when it comes to posting on Zaxy – but I have a (fairly) legit excuse! I’ve been diligently trudging through NaNoWriMo, and I am happy to report I am right on track, nearly at 15,000 words today. :)

On that note, I thought it only fitting to share this cute web series I found called “Month of the Novel”. It’s about a girl attempting NaNoWriMo for the first time, and it’s interesting because you get to watch as her fantasy characters come to life and struggle with the fact that their writer isn’t quite positive what she’s doing with them.

Here’s the first episode:

If you’ve ever tried to write a novel, I’m sure you’ll be able to relate. :)
