If you don’t already have an Xbox/Kinect, may we suggest you get this sweet set up? Microsoft (and @MajorNelson) announced the pre-sale of their Star Wars themed consoles at SDCC yesterday. The console/controller combo, inspired by R2-D2 and C3PO, will be available in the Fall for $449. It includes the Kinect sensor, a 320GB harddrive, and Star Wars Kinect and Kinect Adventures.
Will you be getting your name on the list for this console?
Whether it be a snapshot of a private message or an actual audio file, Fat, Ugly or Slutty posts those rude, sexual and just plain nasty messages players receive in their inboxes from around the world.
Did I mention it’s hilarious?
I’ll find some of the more, uh, PG-ish comments and post them here so you can get an idea of what I’m talking about:
These are pretty mild. If the F-Bomb and other vulgar words don’t offend you, I encourage you to check out Fat, Ugly or Slutty. It’s just…well, have I mentioned it’s hilarious?
Personally, I could fire up my 360 right now and pull at least four or five messages that would fit perfectly on Fat, Ugly or Slutty (I save them for LOLs). I am often asked if these messages offend me, and the simple answer is no, I don’t let it bother me. I figure if these people are willing to take a few minutes out of their day to send me a message, then I should be flattered! I’m not going to wave “The Struggles and Tribulations of a Female Gamer” banner around or anything like that, but seriously, it’s just the way it goes. Do I think it’s ridiculous? Absolutely. But is it worth getting my panties in a bundle? No.
The people that matter in this industry are not the same people sending “omg u must be fat or a man” messages to my XBL account.
Side note: I have to wonder, seeing as the Gamertags aren’t being crossed off, if some people are sending these people dirty messages of their own. Muahaha. That would be funny.
If you MUST have context, it looks like these photos/video were created by Dan Saelinger for the current issue of Fortune magazine. Apparently to get the right shot, 10 Xbox 360s and 8 Xbox controllers were destroyed. (gulp!)
Ahh, now that’s some good clean gaming fun, courtesy of Zaxy lady Kristina, and one of my BFFs Sara.
Now, I’m pretty excited to give the Kinect a try, but it’s because I know the Kinect isn’t meant for hard-core gamers. If you want to try out some new technology and have a good time, try it. If you want to play an intense game, it probably won’t be your console.
But I do love these videos, courtesy of LaughPong. I had the pleasure of being in some that will be released soon, such as Kinect: Dancing with the Hoff, and Kinect: Halo. Just wait.
Check out more Kinect spoofs at Youtube.com/laughpong and let me know what game YOU would want to see played on Kinect!
Its Feb. 9th already! That means time to switch from Mass Effect 2 to Bioshock 2! Tis’ the season for sequels? Hopefully Bioshock will match up to the hype. I don’t know why but I don’t have much confidence! The first Bioshock was good and really creeped me out. I just don’t think that the story will be as creepy playing a Big Daddy instead of Jack!
However, even though I’m doubtful in its greatness, I know that I’ll still be scared to death. If there’s one thing in this world that I’m afraid of, it’s demented little girls. DON’T EVEN get me STARTED on the movie The Ring! * Seven days..* AHH!
Starting April 15, 2010 Microsoft is discontinuing Xbox Live for the regular Xbox. I can’t remember the last time I went on Live on my regular Xbox but still, just knowing that I can’t kind of makes me sad. :(
