Enter the Matrix! Could the ‘VirtuSphere’ be the future of gaming? [5 comments]

March 12, 2010

Screw Project Natal, Playstation ‘Move’ and the stupid Wii-mote tracking systems, I WANT ONE OF THESE IN MY LIVING ROOM!

This over-sized beehive ball is called the ‘VirtuSphere.’ This kind of technology enables players to step out of reality and into a virtual 3-D gaming world. The VirtuSphere tracks you’re body’s movement using a wireless head-tracking camera visor worn over your eyes, as well as a light gun with peripherial tracking. The sphere enables users to actually walk as their character in the game and detects the players’ path of direction while playing.

Pretty neato! Maybe I can use this to start my training as a SECRET ASSASSIN!

Work It! Playstation ‘Move’ Will Make Us Look Like Idiots [3 comments]

March 11, 2010

For some reason these make me want candy.

Playstation’s new motion controller device ‘Move’ has officially been announced for late 2010! Playstation has released a trailer so we can see what we’ll look like whilst playing..

..Cooool dude. Who is going to want to play like that in front of their friends/girlfriends/boyfriends/? What I really want to know is how the HECK did they TRANSFORM that girl INTO THREE PEOPLE! If they can do that… then I don’t even want to know what kinds of trouble people will get into. JK I know thats not really how it is… or is it?! (QUIT TEASING US!)

Here is a video of actual gameplay provided by PlayscopeTrailers.

What do you think of the new ‘Move?’

Infinity Ward Head Bosses FIRED By Activision [4 comments]

March 5, 2010

Jeez, I’ve heard rumors that Activision was headed by a big bunch of jerks but this is absolutely absurd. Infinity Ward’s head bosses Vince Zampella and Jason West were expecting a large royalty check with a “thank you” for making one of the greatest most successful games of all-time. Instead, Activision fired them before the date of their payment.

“Instead of thanking, lauding, or just plain paying Jason and Vince for giving Activision the most successful entertainment product ever offered to the public,” attorney Robert Schwartz said, “last month Activision hired lawyers to conduct a pretextual ‘investigation’ into unstated and unsubstantiated charges of ‘insubordination’ and ‘breach of fiduciary duty,’ which then became the grounds for their termination on Monday, March 1st.”

Dude, I don’t care what happened. Modern Warfare 2 was so utterly freakin’ SWEET and successful, that I think Activision should have just swallowed their pride & kissed some Infinite butts. Does this mean the Call of Duty enterprise will now plummet?

Saturn’s Moon Looks Just Like The Death Star [2 comments]

This is an image that was taken by NASA’s Cassini spacecraft, 9,500 kilometers away from of Saturn’s moon ‘Mimas.’ As you can see, Mimas’ pure resemblence of the Death Star, supreme weapon of mass destruction, only can mean one thing: ALIENS MUST BE REALLY BIG FANS OF STAR WARS! OR- they are secretly creating it, disguising it as a moon and they eventually plan on DESTROYING US ALL! Either theory totally justifies the 88 mile wide crater on the moon’s surface.

Let me first start off by saying JETPACKS and ASSASSINATIONS! Holy mother of Anakin. As if I wasn’t already excited about Halo: Reach before, I’m now about 2-steps away from jacking some Seattle college n00b’s Vespa and riding it all the way to Kirkland, WA to find Bungie Studios. I want the Beta and I want it RIGHT NOW!

Can you wait til May, 3rd?

PS3 Network Catastrophe (Y2K) [1 comment]

March 2, 2010

Wow Sony. This is a big whoops!
Remain in the dark no longer! Your questions are answered.

A glitch in the Playstation 3 systems caused a serious uproar yesterday when users found that they could not connect to the Playstation Network or for some, even play their PS3 at all. The glitch also raped certain users of their player data and game achievements which devastated players with all their hard earned trophies. Sony has not released any information on the number of data loss casualties, as they are kicking themselves in the butt right now for having their market just finally pick up.

Sony has confirmed that the error was caused by a Y2K-like glitch in which the older models viewed 2010 as a leap year. Owners of the newer Slim models appear to be unaffected by this catastrophe while older system consumers remain scared and torn from the incident.

Thanks to Joystiq, be not confused any longer! Your questions are answered:

Q. Is it safe to turn on my PS3 now?
A. Right now, it appears the answer is “yes.” The PlayStation Network is online and fully functional for owners of the PS3 Phat system, and games appear to be running problem-free. Sony has yet to issue an official “you can use your PS3″ statement, however.

Q. Do I have to download a firmware update?
A. Nope. The problem should just fix itself automatically, whether you’re online or not.

Q. My Trophy data for [insert game here] is gone! (I know, I know — that’s not a question, but still!)
A. If you lost any Trophy data over the past 24 hours, there may be a way to salvage it. Launch the game for which you’re trying to restore Trophies and it should automatically recreate a Trophy data set on your PS3’s memory, which you can then sync with the PSN server (just by opening up your Trophy list in the XMB). Our Heavy Rain Trophies had vanished, but this trick brought them back from the ether.

Q. The time and date on my PS3 are wrong. How do I fix this?
A.Under Settings in the XMB, then under the Time/Date settings, you should be able to set your console to automatically sync the time and date via the internet.

*A moment of silence for all the PS3 users that were robbed of their hard earned gaming careers, I hope you are able to restore your achievements & may the force be with you..*

The 72 Hour NewEgg Sale [Add a comment]

February 26, 2010

GAHH! It’s already half way over and I have barely even glanced at it!

All I know is that I need a small, new LCD monitor and the Samsung 18.5″ on the NewEgg is $169.99. $70 bucks off feels like a deal, but I don’t know if I have enough time to make a decision! ALL THIS PRESSURE! I hate how long it takes me to go through with this stuff, I always have to shop around and read reviews and be 100% sure that I’ll be happy, then reconsider again and blah blah blah… Dang it. Maybe next year.

The Dishwasher: Vampire Smile [Add a comment]

February 25, 2010

No, this is not about Robert Pattinson happily smiling at you while doing your dishes, so all you Twilighter idiots can go hyperventilate someplace else!

The gnarly, 2-D side-scroller ‘The Dishwasher: Dead Samurai‘ was a violent blood bath fest on XBLA. For some reason I never brought myself to play it. Despite the fact that my list of games to play is more or less turning into a 5ft long pirate’s scroll, (YEEAARGH!) I’m extremely motivated to play it now that Ska Studios has released the trailer for its sequel ‘The Dishwasher: Vampire Smile.’

Looks insane! :D
