The Amazing Spider-Man Trailer [7 comments]

July 21, 2011

I’m pretty excited for this. Who doesn’t love a good origin story? (Except for you, Wolverine.)

The feel is dark, Peter Parker’s hot, and we might even get some first-person spidey footage? Not bad.

What are your thoughts?

First Look: Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy [4 comments]

December 9, 2010

Emma Stone began filming for the new Spiderman film this week, and this is the first glimpse of her in character. (Seen at the funeral for her father, Captain George Stacy.)

Thoughts? I’m gonna go with “Hot” myself… but I’m a pretty big Emma Stone fan.

Behind the Scenes at Spider-Man [3 comments]

November 29, 2010

You’ve probably already heard that there’s a Spider-Man musical. And you’re probably hearing people talking about how lame it is or looks.

You know what? I don’t care what they say. I think it looks AWESOME. Like, Cirque du Soleil style mind-frak of an experience.

Take a look at this segment from 60 Minutes:

Ok, I know, I know. 60 Minutes is kinda lame. The woman hosting is annoying. And the puns or jokes or whatever she was saying at the beginning? SO BAD. But Spiderman? Holy cow! I want fight scenes above me and fireworks and all kinds of crazyness! Who wants to fly me out to NY to see this in person? Please?

What are your thoughts on the musical? Is it going to be a hit or a flop?

Little Known Facts about Marvel Comics [4 comments]

August 25, 2010

I’m a sucker for a good infographic, especially if it teaches me something. And this taught me a few somethings.

For instance, did you know Stan Lee became Editor-in-Chief of Marvel (then named Timely Comics) at the age of 18? Yikes! So young!

Movie Monday: Gritty Superhero Reboot [1 comment]

May 24, 2010

College Humor is at it again with this great commentary on Superhero films:

What do you think of “gritty reboots” of films? I for one love the dark, more realistic tone it sets. And I’m always in for 10 ccs of Daddy Issues.

Movie Monday: James Cameron’s Spiderman [3 comments]

spiderman

You all may have heard of Mr. Cameron’s most recent movie, Ferngully Avatar, but it looks like he’s had something else in the works for a while.

Spiderman.

Back in 1992 (right after Terminator 2 and before True Lies came out), he put together a scriptment for Spiderman, which first page reads almost like a film noir. He was considered to direct, but when he stepped out of the project, David Koepp (the screenwriter) used the scriptment to help him create his first draft of the film.

With talk of the Spiderman reboot, I would have liked to see James Cameron’s take on this. Especially with the potential effects he could bring to the film with the success of Avatar.

What would you think about a James Cameron Spiderman?
