CONTEST: Joystick Junkies [47 comments]

March 30, 2011

We all have our favorite gaming t-shirts. It’s probably something you got from PAX, and it’s now worn out, has holes in it, and probably shouldn’t be worn out of the house. It’s time we upgrade our wardrobes!

Joystick Junkies describes itself as a charismatic fusion of video gaming and savvy-street fashion. It was founded in London, and just recently expanded to the US. Guys, their shirts are not only cool looking, but they’re super comfortable and well made. PLUS, they have girly shirts and accessories, which means there’s something for everyone! And lucky for you, they gave us SIX shirts to giveaway!

How do you win one of these awesome shirts? Simple. Comment below with your shirt size (free shirts are in adult/unisex sizes M and L) and top two favorite designs from their site. If you pick one of the design/size combinations we have, you win a shirt! (If more than one person picks the same design and size combination, we’ll randomly draw between the correct entrants). You have until 12:00pm PST Tuesday, April 5th. We’ll announce the winners later that day!

So what are you waiting for? Check out Joystick Junkies and comment for your chance to win!

EDIT: Winners have been announced!

Geek Gear [7 comments]

September 9, 2010

At PAX or any other convention, you’ll see tons of folks rocking their favorite Geek Gear. But how do they acquire these things? If you missed that great shirt on Shirt.Woot or Tee Fury, and weren’t able to snag all the free shirts you wanted from PAX, maybe these sites will help.

Here are some great shirts and geek gear sellers I found at PAX!

Glitch Gear

Glitch Gear has gaming apparel for guys and girls, with a big focus on ridiculous gaming puns. They feature shirts for L4D2 as well as for Killing Floor. My fave shirt of theirs from PAX was one that said “I (picture of companion cube) Portal”. Unfortunately, they lied to me and said it would be on their website (since they only had 2XLs left). They also told me there’d be cake. Hmph.

J!NX

J!NX has geeky shirts, yes. But the thing that sets them apart is that the shirts are pretty. Like, you could blend in with hipsters and unless they get the reference on your shirt, they may not even think you’re a geek! Plus, J!NX has recently released a “Lifestyle line” for guys. This line incorporates other articles of clothing. Need to wear something a bit nicer than a t-shirt and jeans for work? You’ll find it here. And you won’t have to sacrifice your geek cred or personality for it.
If you place an order with J!NX before 9/30/2010, you can get 20% off orders of $50 or more. Just use code “FALL2010″.

Zaxy Shirts!

If you saw us at PAX, you probably noticed our shirts. My friend Steve (yes, the same guy who painted Henry Hatsworth for me) created the graphic for us. The pic above is of me and Britt showing off the shirts with Sam, our first shirt winner!

We’ll have these and other shirts at future events, so keep an eye out for us!

What are some of your all time fave geeky shirts?
