Zaxy News: Good and Bad

Hello Dear Zaxy Fans!

It’s with sadness that I must tell you Jill will no longer be writing for Zaxy. She’s chosen to move on to other interests, and I wish her all the best. She will still be on twitter (@killajilla) if you’d like to keep tabs on her!

However, this means I have the opportunity to bring on some other girls to help represent Zaxy and bring you all kinds of bloggy and vloggy goodness. Keep an eye out for some special intros over the next couple weeks!

Thanks to all of you for the love and support you give us on a daily basis–I’m excited to be continuing Zaxy and thrilled to see the new writers join our team! We’ve got some great things planned for the future (just wait for our GIANT PAX party!), so stay tuned!

If you have a sec, leave a comment on your fave “Jill” moment and wish her well on her new endeavors!

Wait Til PETA Gets A Load Of This!

Always playing through the levels as fast as we can to get to the flag pole of victory, have we ever stopped to think about what we’ve just done? CollegeHumor points out the ruthlessness behind Mario and the damage we’ve caused many poor Koopa families.

While watching this video, I actually felt bad. Could you imagine dying like that? No seriously. That has to be one of the worst possible scenarios in the world! I’d beg for death asap! Headaches, seizures, nausea, continuous vomitting, starvation and dehydration all leading to your slow and inevitable death?! NO THANKS.

Man, I’m boycotting this move from now on.
Anyways, back to playing Gears with my lancer chainsaw AHHHAHHAHAHAHA!!!

Machinarium DENIED Publishing on XBLA

One of my favorite games to play on Steam is the point & click power puzzler, Machinarium. The game just got denied publishing on XBLA and is now looking into publishing on the Playstation network. (Sad face!)

via Joystiq:

Microsoft’s official stance — and policy, according to Dvorský — is the company does not publish games that are not exclusive to its platforms. During the year-long process of waiting for a response from Microsoft, Amanita Design never expressed interest in submitting Machinarium to Sony’s PlayStation Network. Now that Microsoft has decided against publishing the game, Amanita is exploring Sony’s platform. “We submitted the game to Sony after Microsoft refused it,” Dvorský said.

Sad. I’d love to play with that little robot on XBLA again! Why does everything seem to be so beneficial for the PS3 lately? Maybe it’s just me focusing on everything I cant have. =/

R.I.P. Xbox Live For Original Xbox

Starting April 15, 2010 Microsoft is discontinuing Xbox Live for the regular Xbox.
I can’t remember the last time I went on Live on my regular Xbox but still, just knowing that I can’t kind of makes me sad. :(
