The Penny Arcade folks are just full of announcements this week!
PAX East registration is now open for April 6th-8th, 2012 in Boston. It’s Easter weekend, but I still hope to see some of you there! You can register here.
What’s up guys? Along with Kristina, I am the newest addition to Zaxy (although it appears some of you already figured that out)!
Yeah, yeah…Brittney=Britney Spears. Blah blah I didn’t do it again and don’t hit me one more time.
I know that was awkward, but it was necessary. Trust me.
Now that THAT is out of the way…
In the way that Tara and Kristina have labeled and introduced themselves, I shall do the same. My name is Brittney (or Britt5091 as the internet knows me), and I am a geek.
Although I sincerely enjoy Anime, Manga and am JUST now getting my feet wet with comics (just about to finish The Walking Dead compendium!), my forte and all-access pass into this great land of Geek is my obsession and passion with videogames and the industry as a whole.
Long story short—I’ve been prancing around in Videogamedom ever since I can remember. My grandma and almost every other female on my dad’s side of the family is a gamer, and I was fortunate enough to inherit the gene. Needless to say, our family gatherings are hardly ever dull ;)
(I’ve been playing since you were in diapers, boy.)
Like Tara mentioned earlier, this year has been exceptionally exciting for me as not only did I fly across the country for PAX East, I was recently able to fill a lifetime goal of going to E3. Believe it or not, actually experiencing E3 in person is a million times better than watching conferences via laggy websites and reading news via live blogs. Who woulda thunk it?!
Anyway, I’m SO very excited to be joining Zaxy and to share my gaming knowledge and thoughts and hear all of yours. I tend to be amazed and distracted by pretty, shiny objects, so be sure to expect some randomness out of me as well!
Jill here! Laying in bed sicker than …someone who is really sick, I curse all you PAX attendees for getting me like this! JK, but whatever happened to me at PAX is beyond a mystery. I cannot believe this happened! My sickness prevention levels were full throttle! I used so much freaking hand sanitizer that my hands literally became chapped and tender from all the alcohol, I took vitamin C tablets everyday and I even made sure that I ate healthier foods whenever it was time to go eat! HOW am I stuck in my bed still, 3 days after PAX ended and I used every method convenient to me to skip out on all the germs?! Aghh.. I blame US Airways, but thats a whole ‘nother story.
I saw this video today. Amazing. This guy does TONS of video game mash ups with a gory-like twist. (Also good: Mortal Kombat meets Oregon Trail)
Sweet. If I was creative and smart, I would do all sorts a-things, like Master Chief’s Vacation to Little Big Planet, or Jigglypuff Gets Lost On Silent Hill. Dang how I wish I could just download knowledge! Screw learning. (Click HERE for more mash ups)
Anyways, being in this useless condition, I could not be more greatful for the internet, wireless connectivity and my wonderful laptop thats keeping my belly warm. Good wishes to you all, I hope you all stay healthy!
We are so excited for PAX East… Jill and I are heading out on Thursday and will be there all weekend!
Jill can’t wait to demo games and I am really looking forward to seeing Dungeons and Dragons on Microsoft Surface!
Look for us at the Play On Booth, where we’ll be hanging out and chatting up gamers. We’ll also be signing people up to win a giant TV! Come by, say “Hi”, tell us your favorite part of PAX and enter the contest. If we’re not there, look for us on the floor. We’ll be in white hooded “PlayOn” shirts. We’ll also be tweeting from the conference using tags #PlayOn and #PAXEast.
Not going to PAX? You can enter to win stuff from PlayOn too. Just check out this page for a free trial and a chance to win an XBOX 360 or PS3!
On Friday at 7:30pm, Zaxy and PlayOn will also be hosting a meet-up at The Pour House, literally 50 feet away from the convention center. Over 21? Join us! Have a beer, talk games. It’ll be awesome.
We’ll also be hitting up some other parties/events in the evenings, so if you know of something we should be at (that doesn’t involve anything creepy like a 1 on 1 D&D campaign in your hotel room), let us know.
We can’t wait for Boston!
Will we see you there? What are you most excited for?
