The Humble Indie Bundle’s Back! [2 comments]

December 14, 2010

Presenting the best purchase you’ll make all year:
The Humble Indie Bundle gives you 5 games (Braid, Cortex Command, Machinarium, Osmos, and Revenge of the Titans), and you name the price. Not only that, but you decide where your money goes! Choose between the game developers, the Electronic Frontier Foundation, Child’s Play, or a nice donation to the Humble Bundle guys. And the best part? All of these games can work on PC, Mac, OR Linux.

I’ve been wanting to play Braid and Machinarium for a while, and am excited to give the other games a try as well.

Will you be picking up a bundle? What game are you most excited for?

Halloween Goodies! [3 comments]

October 28, 2010

I’ve been gearing up for Halloween, and have been finding some awesome deals, freebies, and contests while getting everything set. Being the super nice person I am, I’m sharing them with you!

Steam is having a HUGE Halloween Sale on select titles from now until November 1st. If it’s scary, it’s on sale! PLUS they just announced that L4D is now available for Macs! (Think I could play it at work without getting caught?)

So many games, so little time…

If you got caught up playing games and didn’t have time to put together a costume, here’s something for you:
Rise Again (the novel) has created some downloadable, printable zombie wound stickers. Just print them on some sticker paper and you’re good to go! Excellent for attending ZomBcon, dressing up for Halloween, or scaring your doctor at your next check up.

Need a bit more motivation to dress up for Halloween? How about this: Dress up as Colonel Sanders, and be entered to win free KFC Doublicious Sandwiches for life. Get directions and official rules here. But if the doublicious is anything like the Double Down, I’m so not eating it.

Whatever you do this year for Halloween, have fun, be safe, and come visit Zaxy at ZomBcon! Hope to see you there!

Dress Up Your MacBook [2 comments]

August 12, 2010

When I was younger, I was never much for dolls. I liked dressing them up, but I could never find anything to do with them much past that point. When I got a little older, I found that our family computer was a much, much more enjoyable toy than any Barbie I ever owned.

But now, I can’t help but embrace the geek girl inside of me when I found you can now actually dress up your computer. In a sense. Now that’s a type of dress up I can really get behind.

There are multiple shops on etsy.com (including this one) that feature a whole plethora of ways to nerd up your macbook.

I spent the better part of my morning debating between Doctor Who, Futurama and Mario themed decals for my laptop, and those are just a few of the many categories I stumbled upon.

For the record, I ended up going with a Tyrannosaurus Rex.

The iPad? [1 comment]

January 29, 2010

The morning of January 27th filled me with nothing but disappointment. Apple’s much anticipated announcement of their newest creation & rumored Apple Tablet left me violently excited for weeks! Up all night looking at forums, talking about every idea I could imagine for it, January 27th felt like it was going to be Christmas!

Now, I don’t really know what I was expecting, (HOLOGRAM COMPUTER/TIME MACHINE/CURE FOR CANCER) but with all the hype surrounding the product, I was expecting some kind of ingenious miracle. Instead, all we got was Christmas with the Griswolds, and the iPad being the unwanted Cousin Eddie.

Excuse me, did you folks say ‘new creation?’ Pish posh! It’s an upgraded iPod Touch! An iPad Touch!! Thanks Apple. If I wanted to spend $500 on another iPod Touch, them’ better be some goooood applications!
