Halo Reach for Kinect? [11 comments]

October 8, 2010

My friend made another Kinect spoof, and this time I got to play along.

I suck at FPS. I just can’t really grasp where to look. I’m learning, but I still suck. That said, the things I do in this video are just acting. I may be bad, but I’m not an absolute moron.

Would YOU play Halo for Kinect?

You’ll see me playing all sorts of games (including some FPS) on the 16th for Extra Life.

EDIT: The video’s on Reddit! Won’t you spare an upvote?

Don’t Be a Quitter. Bungie is Watching. [6 comments]

August 2, 2010

It happens to all of us.

You’re surviving the final moments of an intense firefight, pwning n00bs, hurdling the dead and chucking grenades like a madman. As you sprint to find cover from the deafening pings of incoming fire, all you can say to yourself is three more kills… three more kills… three more kills…and the match will be yours.

Sliding behind a chunk of debris, you briefly check your gear. Not the best cover, but it’ll do for now.

Three more kills…

A naïve n00b appears from behind the building up ahead. It’s the enemy, and they are unknowingly coming straight towards you.

Host has quit. Connection has timed out. Connection to host was lost. Your connection to the host has timed out.

And just like that the naïve n00b, crappy cover and blood ridden battlefield is no more.

Yes, it happens to all of us.

Now, before we all jump to our feet and scream a bloodthirsty “RAGEQUUUIIIIIT!!” we should consider all other possibilities. Perhaps their connection was lost, or maybe they had to make a mad dash for the toilet?

Or maybe…they ragequit’d.

Well, Bungie isn’t having ANY of that when it comes to their upcoming title, Halo: Reach. If you are a serial ragequitter, consider this your warning straight from Brian Jarrard:

“I think one of the new things people will be excited about is how we’re going to be able to penalize people who are habitually quitting out of games, which isn’t exactly cheating, but it creates a really negative experience for everybody else in the game.”

“We actually have new tools now to detect that and eventually, people who do this habitually will actually be penalized. We want to be able to remove them from the population so they can’t make everyone else keep having a bad time.”

I think the key phrase here is “habitually quitting”. So if your connection is a little on the ‘eh’ side or if you have to quit a match every now and then, by the sounds of it you’ll be fine.

We don’t know what said penalty is, but thoughts? Does Bungie reserve the right to penalize gamers for quitting a match?

Try to contain your excitement!

I don’t know how I feel about the new BR, I wish they would have left it the exact same. Also, that new game with all the skulls falling out seems dumb.

MEH. Come on May 3rd, come on!!
