The newest Humble Indie Bundle was announced last week, and although it’s always a great deal (5 games, you pick how much to pay and what your money goes towards), I wasn’t super excited by its choice of games. HOWEVER, the people doing the bundle are on some sort of “free stuff” binge, and they’ve recently announced some additional perks and freebies for buying the bundle.
At the moment, in addition to the 5 original games, you get:
AND if you spend more than the average amount when purchasing the bundle, you get the entire Humble Indie Bundle #2 as well! (And that’s stocked with great games like Braid and Machinarium). At writing, the average was under $5. Which means if you spend just $5, you get 11 games and free time in Minecraft. WTF.
This documentary will show us all that goes into creating an indie video game, and leave us with a better appreciation for the finished product that we get to play with.
The film’s currently being made, and their kickstarter campaign to continue filming surpassed its goal in 24 hours. Still want to donate/pre-order your copy of the DVD? You can do so here.
Looks like Zaxy may need to have some sort of screening when it comes out…
Presenting the best purchase you’ll make all year: The Humble Indie Bundle gives you 5 games (Braid, Cortex Command, Machinarium, Osmos, and Revenge of the Titans), and you name the price. Not only that, but you decide where your money goes! Choose between the game developers, the Electronic Frontier Foundation, Child’s Play, or a nice donation to the Humble Bundle guys. And the best part? All of these games can work on PC, Mac, OR Linux.
I’ve been wanting to play Braid and Machinarium for a while, and am excited to give the other games a try as well.
Will you be picking up a bundle? What game are you most excited for?
To all you Braid fans, I’m sure you’ll be excited to know that designer Jonathan Blow’s newest project titled, ‘The Witness’ has had a lot of update releases this past week. The game’s official website is fronted with some poetic, ‘Jonathan Blow-ian,’ insightful mumbo jumbo:
(I R ROBOT, THIS DOES NOT COMPUTE)
I have no idea what the crap any of that means but the site later describes the game as “a exploration-puzzle game on an uninhabited island,” so I’m alright. They also released some concept art which looks pretty promising.
Nifty. Braid was so amazing, let’s hope this can amount to our poetic, philosophical, puzzle-playing satisfaction. It’s just too bad we have to wait til late 2011! Sad face.
Braid is the 2-D side-scroller that I purchased from Xbox Live Arcade some time ago. I played it, I beat it and MY MIND WAS BLOWN. Like *WABOOOOOOOOOOM!* Sweet, sweet carnage!
It was so awesome, I thought I’d write an overview for those of you who haven’t played it because you should! Hit the jump for my overview!
