Starting April 15, 2010 Microsoft is discontinuing Xbox Live for the regular Xbox.
I can’t remember the last time I went on Live on my regular Xbox but still, just knowing that I can’t kind of makes me sad. :(

It goes further than that. All original Xbox games can no longer access live, meaning even if you play them on a 360, single-player is all you’ll have left.
