Enter the Matrix! Could the ‘VirtuSphere’ be the future of gaming? [5 comments]

Posted in Gaming and Tech.

Screw Project Natal, Playstation ‘Move’ and the stupid Wii-mote tracking systems, I WANT ONE OF THESE IN MY LIVING ROOM!

This over-sized beehive ball is called the ‘VirtuSphere.’ This kind of technology enables players to step out of reality and into a virtual 3-D gaming world. The VirtuSphere tracks you’re body’s movement using a wireless head-tracking camera visor worn over your eyes, as well as a light gun with peripherial tracking. The sphere enables users to actually walk as their character in the game and detects the players’ path of direction while playing.

Pretty neato! Maybe I can use this to start my training as a SECRET ASSASSIN!

I’m curious if your character falls down when you inevitably do.

I’ve had design ideas similar to that. Problem is, stuff like that is next to impossible to market these days.

  3. I dont think my game room is big enough to support the virtu Sphere. It looks pretty cool though.

    DO WANT.

  5. This was actually featured on ABC’s Shark Tank. They were looking for funding for it. It’s good to see they’re still out there! This would only make sense in an arcade though; this wouldn’t fit in most homes… or be affordable! :P
