CONTEST: Win a Puck! [46 comments]

Posted in Goodiez & Toys.

You’re stuck in the middle of nowhere with your laptop. You want to log on to WOW, or check the newest Zaxy post… but you don’t have any internet. What do you do?

Rover’s helping Zaxy folks out by giving away one Puck to one of our readers. The Rover Puck is a disc like object that can hook up to 8 laptop or Wi-Fi devices, and get you back online easily. It’s small enough to carry around with you, and the battery lasts upwards of 4 hours.

Internet can be purchased as needed, so it doesn’t require a contract. Download speeds range from 3-6Mbps. Service coverage ranges, check the coverage map to make sure your city has 4G! here.

Want more info? Check out www.rover.com!

Want to win a Puck of your own? Comment on this post with how YOU would use it. One person will be selected randomly Monday, October 11th. Good luck!

EDIT: The Winner has been notified! Congrats to Tom, who commented: “Part of me wants to use it to have something other than Comcast to serve up my internet. Another part of me would just take it out in to the woods for the sheer novelty of surfing the web with squirrels.”

i would use it to play hockey with. Oh, wrong puck you say?

  5. Wow, that’s nice of y’all to do. I’d use it to connect to the web from super seekrit hidey places, of course ^_^

  6. when i am in the park

  7. Sounds like the perfect device for an Ipad land party for all of us who chose the 3Gless. Now pocket legend, godfinger and all those server based multiplayer games.

  8. I would use it for mobile shananigans. d(^_^)b

  9. Joshua Oct 7th 2010

I wouldn’t mind of these bad boys. It’d be nice to have internet again. If I had one of these, I’d be encouraged to use it. It’d be a shame if it collected dust in a closet.

  10. Angel Oct 7th 2010

I would bring my Starcraft crew everywhere and hold 4v4 tournaments vs people in random cities at mall foodcourts or random restaurants :D

  11. Magiz Oct 7th 2010

Sounds cool. I would use this sucker in all those dark places (you know where you can’t surf) and keep up-to-date with all the wonders of the net. I have to get my daily fill somehow.

  12. cdotts Oct 7th 2010

this is a comment, huge success!

i would use it for tailgating so i can actually watch football games and sneak in a game of L4D or two (if i can get a laptop that runs it ;) )

  13. I would write Zaxy posts with it!

    …what? I can’t enter?

  14. I love paying for stuff, paying for stuff gets a bad rep.

  15. I would use it to do what I am doing right now, only on a beach somewhere. And Id share!

  16. Harlequin Oct 7th 2010

I would use it at work. It would be a good way to get around that pesky website filter so that I could actually read Zaxy at work. I mean, really, blocking Zaxy? It’s obviously vital, work-related information. Some people just don’t understand.

  17. Interesting little toy. Would help on the Sunday and Monday nights when I’m at work with my laptop.

  18. Let’s be honest, I’d probably watch porn with it.

  19. Albert Oct 7th 2010

I would use it all the time and share with the family/friends. iphone, ipods, ipad, and a couple of phones.

  20. I would use it to give internet to computers of course. And most likely porn………… But also to play beasty games like BC2 and WoW.

  21. This would be so awesome to have! WANT!

  22. Oh, I would use it to share internets with people that have run out of internets. Internets for everyone!

  23. I’d use internet on my laptop outside, like a park perhaps.

  24. Jonathan So Oct 7th 2010

so its like one of the usb wireless internet things that sprint and such sell for you laptop, but a hub with more ports and functions on it’s own power basically?

  25. Socksy Oct 7th 2010

I’ve been wanting to take up hockey.

  26. Z0D1AK HUN73R Oct 7th 2010

Road trips is what id use it for. No longer would I need to wait to get somewhere while on the road with family to use my laptop or DS. Also, i could loan it out to my brother and he could use it to do his hobby with…which is storm chasing.

  27. CodySauce/CodySting GT Oct 7th 2010

I like free Stuff Tara *inserts witty comment =P

    Cody

  28. I would use it for my ROTC program at my high school. There is a competition where you have to hack someone else’s computer, who ever “crashes” the other computer wins. So it would be cool to use this for practice when we don’t have any internet available.

  29. Erin ETAW Oct 7th 2010

I would use it to post embarassing pictures/videos of Brittney on the internet. She knows I have lots! MUUUAHAHAHAHA

  30. Being a ninja is hard work and sometimes involves alot of waiting for the right time to strike. Nothing’s worse then when I’m trying to check out Zaxy.com on my cellphone, that’s a phone the size of a cell, and there’s no open wifi to browse with while waiting for my target to get off the toilet.

  31. Benjamin Jones Oct 7th 2010

I would give it to my niece who has just started her first year in college and needs a way of getting online while at home. She usually comes over to my place to use my connection for research/homework (Farmville lol), but I’m starting a new job next week that will have me working too late.

  32. Juliemc Oct 7th 2010

Hi Id like to try out the puck. I wonder if I could get to my Steam account and play L4D2 with my friends when Im not at home.

  33. You should mention US citizens only? (or im assuming)

But if I had it, it’d take my games with me to game at work, while im chilling out, at a friend’s place and it’s all while doing in with my own puck and laptop. Just cause it looks so badass. :p

  34. I would play mariokart wii online, outside, projected on the side of my house :D (done it before).

  35. James Oct 8th 2010

    I have dial-up…sadly.

  36. dylan Oct 8th 2010

i would use it to post regular updates and pics on my site as well as to update contracts and legal papers from the field when all other devices fail (and they always do). not to mention it would be great for those on the go communications withthe home office.

  37. its such a comfort to know that the future we always imagined really was just around the corner. Rover, the name of your best friend. LA’s missing u

  38. Part of me wants to use it to have something other than Comcast to serve up my internet. Another part of me would just take it out in to the woods for the sheer novelty of surfing the web with squirrels.

  39. I love your blog. I have only found it recently but you all definitely put up some interesting stuff. Thanks for all the laughs.

  40. opopop Oct 11th 2010

Well, it is something quite revolutionary.
I could definitively find some use for it as I travel a lot

  41. Boots_33 Oct 11th 2010

Pucks beling in the State of hockey, so send it right over to me, please.

    Please?

  42. Definitely a cool idea. Not 100% sure it’s better than just getting a netbook with 4g, but I’d still love to have one.

  43. I could find this very useful since im always out and about

  44. wow, that is really interesting. I want it!!

  45. I would use it while traveling / on the road. This way I can always stay in touch with what the Zaxy girls are up to! ;)

(Ok, that sounded kind of creepy, and I swear I didn’t mean it that way!)

  46. A HUGE thank you to the Zaxy ladies!! You made my day!!
